The Little Things: Friday’s Five

I have a wonderful, yet busy, weekend ahead of me.  At least I get to sleep in, hopefully.

Parents are Home! – I am so excited that my parents are finally home for the summer. I hate waiting 6 months to see them, and I am sure it will be even harder once Baby E is here.

Tinted Windows – I have wanted to tint my car windows ever since I bought it, but apparently it was never at the top of my list. With Baby E coming in this summer heat, I decided now was finally the time. It really does make a difference. Why did I not do it sooner?

Choosing a Pediatrician – We finally got around to meeting and making the decision on our Pediatrician. We have chosen Dr. Deborah Cox at After Hours Pediatrics on Paseo. She made us feel so comfortable. I can’t wait for her to meet our little one.

Baby Showers Galore – Last weekend I attended a Baby shower for my friend Jill who is having twins! She is due in late August, but I would not be surprised if her baby girl, and baby boy come before Baby E. I had baby shower #2 on Tuesday and my last and final one will be on Sunday! I can’t wait.

Getting Pampered – Yesterday I got my hair done. This evening I am getting a mani/pedi. I will be all ready for my maternity photoshoot tomorrow and by baby shower on Sunday.

Have a fantastic weekend!

The Little Things: 6 More Weeks!

I am now at 34 weeks with only 6 more weeks until my Due Date! I had a Doctors appointment yesterday and the baby is doing well. Baby E’s heartbeat is nice and steady. My blood pressure is finally back down which is a good thing. I did manage to loose a pound, so I have been told to eat plenty of carbs and ice cream. Haha!

Unfortunately, right now Baby E is breeched. Baby E has until my next appointment to move head down or we will have to start talking about turning Baby E (which sounds VERY unpleasant.) Fingers Crossed!!!!

The Little Things: Baby Shower #2 - Team Girl or Team Boy

Yesterday my amazing co-workers hosted a shower for me at work. Thank you to everyone who came. I continue to be amazed by the generosity of everyone.

The guys had a hard time staying around too long.

The theme for this shower was Team Girl or Team Boy. Everyone had to choose a side and either wear a mustache or a pink bow. Even the big Boss man got in on the action. I choose Team Boy.

Everyone also had to choose if they thought it is a boy that looked like Eddie, or a girl that looks like me. Most have met Zion (a mini me of Eddie) and choose a boy that looks like Eddie. I would have too.

Thank you to Lucinda for making cupcakes, baby cakes, and chocolate covered strawberries. Also the adorable cake pops were a hit!

The gift theme was ‘Baby Library’ and I am so happy to get a good stockpile of books to read Baby E. I also loved that most bought their favorite books from their childhood.

I have the best co-workers, and I am so lucky to be able to be a mother, but continue to work. Thank you so much!

The Little Things: Oh So Plush!

Yesterday our new carpet was installed. It feels so plush on our feet, and we love it. Not to mention it makes a huge difference in the looks department. Diego loves scratching his face on it, and I know Baby E will love lying, playing, crawling and walking on it so soon!

We used the company Carpet Source, and I highly recommend them on price and customer service.

Looks like it should be from an episode of Hoarders.

The Little Things: Boring is Good!

Last week I was 32 weeks (8 months,) this week 33 weeks. It is going by very fast, and I am so grateful. I keep telling myself that boring is good. I feel fine, and have nothing major to complain about. The baby is now the size of a bag of sugar (with limbs.) We can’t wait to meet this little one!

The Little Things: Too Much Fun!

By how tired and dragging I was this morning, I think I had too much fun this weekend (Eddie too.) I probably should have done a lot more resting.

On Saturday, Eddie and I toured the hospital that I will be delivering at. I really like how small it is. I started to get a little emotional on the tour (no tears!) and realized that we will be back there VERY soon!

Eddie, with some assistance from me, bottled his Vanilla Porter beer and brewed his Belgian Carmel Wit (Blue Moonish.) I am very excited for both of these, and will add them to my stash for when I can consume them.

On Sunday, Eddie and I had some friends join us at the Blues and Brews Festival at Sandia. It was not as tortuous due to the fact that I have tried most of the beers there already, and Marissa is also expecting, so I was not alone. After, we had Marissa and Sidney over for dinner and introduced them to Carne Asada. They loved it.

The rookies were envious of Eddie's pretzel necklace.

On Monday, Eddie enjoyed a bike ride, while Diego waited for him to come back, and I made cupcakes. Laundry and cleaning was also taken care of before we headed over to the Steele’s for a BBQ in Sidnee’s honor. It was the perfect way to end the 3-day weekend.

Waiting for Eddie to come home.

The Little Things: Friday’s Five

Long Weekends – Yay for 3 day weekends! I am really looking forward to this weekend. This may be one of the first Memorial Day weekends that Eddie has not had to work. We have so many fun things planned this weekend, I just hope I get some relaxing in as well. I will also take some time to reflect on what this Holiday is really about.

O’Niells Pub – I use to NOT be a fan of O’Niells, but it has always been a favorite of Eddie’s. I finally figured out what it is I like there (Turkey Jack with a side salad,) and now I can say I like it!

Eddie’s T-shirts – Since I refused to buy maternity pajamas, I have adopted some of Eddie’s t-shirts. I love them so much, he might not get them back.

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Hand Soap – My favorite scent is lavender, but they all smell so delicious. This is the first product of theirs that I have tried, but I will be trying more soon.

Evening Walks With My Boys - While getting up and walking is the last thing I want to do these days, I am so glad Eddie and Diego make me. I love the quality time with just them. No iphones, no TV, just us and plenty to talk about. I especially love these walks when we stop for ice cream.
