It’s Official

One of the reasons that we termed this next year of our Marriage ‘The Year of Adventures’ is that Eddie is changing his career. He has put in his two weeks at the Isotopes, and has accepted a job as a Project Manager for Williamson’s Restoration. I am so proud of him and we are both so happy with the opportunities that are headed his way.

Here is the nice email that his Boss sent out to all of the staff at the Isotopes:

Please join me in congratulating Eddie Enriquez, who has accepted a position as project manager with Williamson Restoration.  Eddie’s last day with the Isotopes will be on Friday, October 14.

As you know, Eddie has been a vital part of the Isotopes family since our inaugural 2003 season.  Starting out as an intern and eventually moving into a full-time position, Eddie has been involved in nearly every aspect of our operation.  His contributions and commitment to our organization have certainly been appreciated and he will be missed.

Good luck to you Eddie, and to Ashley and Zion on this next phase of your life.
John Traub

Congrats Eddie!

A little cupcake celebration seemed appropriate.

We Made It! Our First Anniversay.

Well, we made it to our first anniversary, not like we thought we wouldn’t. We have had such an amazing year together, and fallen a little more in love each day. While we had a few ‘downs’ this year, the majority were ‘ups’ and I could not ask for a better partner to get through life with. I am so happy being a wife, and proud to call Eddie my husband.

Happy 5th Birthday Audrey! We enjoyed breakfast with the family for Audrey’s birthday, and dinner at Antiquity to celebrate one year! We ate year old Wedding Cake and it was surprisingly not disgusting. (Sorry, no pic on this, it was not pretty.) I am not one to hold on to stuff for sentimental reasons, but I lost the fight when it came to our Unity Candle. We decided that every year on our Anniversary we would light it. It never hurts to be reminded that we are now united for life.  We are really looking forward to our second year of marriage and have termed it ‘The Year of Adventures!’

Happy Birthday Eddie!

We were lucky enough to celebrate Eddie’s Birthday with a lot of family and friends earlier in the week, but his true Birthday (9.24) was just us. It happened to fall on a Saturday which was perfect. We slept in and had Eddie’s favorite breakfast. He watched a little football while I did some chores. In the afternoon we ventured down to Old Town where there was a Salsa Fiesta. There were about 40 salsas to try. Some were good, others were not. We plowed right through like they were going to run out. Our stomachs were not very happy with us. Maybe next year we will pace ourselves better, or better yet maybe Eddie should enter his. It was a wonderful event though. Tons of people, music and relaxing. After, we tried a newer Brewery, Nexus. They have some really good beers, and of course we took a growler home to end the night with FOOTBALL. I hope it was a perfect birthday for Eddie.

I love you Autumn!

Happy first day of Autumn! September is my favorite month (hence why my anniversary is on Sunday), with October being my second favorite. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer and warm weather, but there is nothing better than wearing jeans and a t-shirt and being so comfortable. Look at this weather!

Not to mention I am a sucker for anything pumpkin flavored or scented, and this time of the year the stores are full of pumpkin products. I love it! I also love that it is not too hot for soup. I do love me some boots, but I am patiently waiting to wear those, as I know I will be sick of them next spring.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I know we will since we will be celebrating Birthdays and our First Anniversary!

Championship Game and a Birthday Boy

We were so lucky to have so much of Eddie’s family here for the week. The Isotopes held the Minor League Championship Game on Tuesday. The Isotopes were not playing in it, but it was a great night for a baseball game. All the festivities having to do with the game were fun too! I am so excited Baseball is OVER! Yay!

We also were able to host a little BBQ on Wednesday night to celebrate Eddie’s Birthday. Thank you to Greg, Gabby, Pat, Juan, Aurora, Mike Sylvia, Ray, Ann, Pat, Patty, Brian, Katelyn, Audrey, Landon, Adam, Cooper, and Hayden for making it so special. We love you guys!

Oh! What a Weekend! And it is going to be quite the week.

We had a very busy weekend, and we are going to have a busy week too! I am already looking forward to next weekend’s R&R.

Pat joined us this weekend from California. On Saturday Pat, Eddie and Jesse went to the Lobo football game. Due to poor weather, and a poor game, they left at half time. They had a great time tailgating though.

While the boys were at the football game, I went to Audrey’s first soccer game. Well, sort of. I was 10 minutes late and pretty much missed her playing the first half. I did hear that she was a superstar and scored 5 goals!  Way to go Audrey!

After the game I went back to the Mileshosky’s for the kids birthday party. It was what you would call organized chaos, but perfect nonetheless! Great party Kate.

Landon waiting for the jumper to inflate. So cute!

Sunday was spent watching Football and relaxing before the storm hits.

Pat, Greg, Gabby, Juan, Aurora, Mike and Sylvia are all in Albuquerque for the Minor League Baseball Championship Game. It is going to be quite the week, but we are really looking forward to spending some time with them. They also have great timing and they will be able to celebrate Eddie’s birthday with us.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL …?

Notice the Cowboy on the floor?

Are you ready for football? In the Enriquez household we sure are. Without a doubt Eddie is the most excited. September is his favorite month, due to Football, his Birthday, and oh yeah, our Anniversary. Diego actually really loves football, due to the fact that Eddie sits on the couch with him all day long. Every year I like it a little more. I do love the fact that Eddie is home, and it gives me the chance to catch up on some house work. Plus…its got to be a great weekend when the Jets beat the Cowboys!

Labor Day … Relaxing?

Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer, and is suppose to be a relaxing weekend. Well, for us we had to make it a working weekend. We painted the kitchen! We aren’t done yet, I still need to do a bit of touch up as well as all of the trim work and cabinets, and put the kitchen back together. It will be an ongoing project for probably another month. However, I love the way it turned out. The color, Lyndhurst Gallery Beige, compliments the new tile very well, and it is very soothing.

We did actually have a little fun this weekend too, and we spent a lot of quality time together. We bought our annual Labor Day Weekend sack of green chile, and went to the horse races at the Downs, where we were big LOSERS! All in all it was very productive and pretty good. Now back to the daily grind.

Cinnamon Coffee

For years now I have been hearing that I should put cinnamon in my coffee.  Not only does it aid in digestion, but it’s yummy. However, every time I put it in my coffee it does not end well. It always clumps together and floats on the top, or sinks to the bottom. It never fails, there is always one sip where you get all of the cinnamon, and there is such a thing as too much cinnamon. Just recently my friend Rebecca told me to put the cinnamon in the coffee grounds. Let me tell you, she is a genius! It worked so well, and it is the perfect combo of coffee and cinnamon. If you like cinnamon, try it, you will love it!
