The Little Things: Friday’s Five

Eddie’s Baby Blanket – While I received so many fabulous gifts last weekend, one was extra special. Eddie’s Mom gave me one of Eddie’s Baby Blankets. It is white and yellow and could not be more perfect. All of my baby keepsakes were stolen, so this blanket really means a lot to me.

Flowering Indoor Plants – I love when my indoor plants flower, but how come they never do in the winter? I have a favorite of them all. I don’t know what kind of plant it is, but the flowers look plastic and fake.

Carne Asada from Pico Rivera, CA – One would think that we would be able to buy good Carne Asada in Albuquerque, but nothing compares to what we can buy in California. Just like we always take Green Chile and Rudy’s Sauce to California, we always come home with meat. Hopefully we bought enough to hold us over until the baby is born and everyone comes to visit.

My Tomatoes – I am pretty proud of my tomatoes. I grew these from seeds, and they are out of control! I can’t wait to plant them this weekend, but it will be a long wait until I get to enjoy them.

Sleep Over with Audrey and Landon – Last night Audrey and Landon spent the night. Although we were all pretty tired, we had a fun time. Landon woke up a few times crying and confused as to where he was, so that made for a rough night for Eddie and I. This is going to be our new normal soon, so we better get use to it.

The Little Things: Third and Final Trimester!

I am so excited! I have reached 28 weeks, which starts my third and final trimester. I am so excited to meet this baby boy or girl. I had a Doctors appointment yesterday and everything is looking good. Katelyn and Audrey joined me, so that Audrey could hear the baby. Eddie and I now have homework, and I will have Doctor visits every two weeks.

It was confirmed yesterday that we are shooting for an ‘All Natural Vaginal Birth’. Due to the fusion of my spine, drugs are not an option. If it comes to a cesarean, I would need general anesthesia, which would knock me out completely. Since this is how it is going to be, I would really appreciate only comments and recommendations in favor of this!

The Little Things: California Lovin

This past weekend Eddie and I flew to LAX for a baby shower and some family time. Although our trip was way too short, it was great to be there. Thanks to Jamie loaning me a pair of compression socks I avoided all kankles and swollen feet!

Gabby and I

Thank you to the best Mother-in-law ever! She threw me the most amazing shower. The theme was Dr. Seuss and no detail was spared. I felt very ‘showered’ with love. Thank you to Clarissa, Rebecca and Judy for all of your help too!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures!

The cutest diaper cake!

The gift table and the clothes line for the decorated bibs.

The cake that tasted as good as it looked.

The Little Things: Friday’s Five

A little gift for Eddie – Having a baby is similar to getting married when it comes to gifts. There are very few things that Eddie appreciates; most of it is for me, and Baby E of course. This is especially true when it comes to the clothes. A year ago, we saw this onesie and both fell in love with it. We both hoped that one day we would be buying it. Last week I ordered it for Eddie and shipped it to work so it would be a surprise. Eddie was very happy with his gift, and we can’t wait for Baby E to wear it.

Pauly D Tickets – Yeah Buddy! We are both pretty stoked for this, and FREE tickets are the best! I am just really hoping that I can get away from the ‘Club’ section and have a place to sit.

Reading to the baby – I have to admit, it is equal parts fun and weird reading to your tummy. We have been reading Shel Silverstein ‘Where the Sidewalk Ends’ since I had the book from when I was a kid. As an adult, the poems are kinda odd.

Impractical Jokers – I don’t know how my husband finds some of his shows, but we both love this one. It airs on True TV. Many times it has had me laughing so hard I am crying. I don’t know how to explain it, but you just have to watch a few episodes.

Vaseline Aloe Fresh Protecting Lotion with SPF 15 – I probably should have started this beauty routine sooner, but I suppose it is never too late. In an effort to prevent sunspots on my chest as I age, I have started using this lotion daily on my chest, neck and shoulders. It is very light and not greasy. I just wish I could find a sunscreen lotion for my hands to use daily. I am just a tad bit picky about hand lotion.

Happy weekend everyone. I hope you enjoy your time relaxing with friends and family.

The Little Things: 26 Weeks and Goodbye Wedding Rings

26 weeks and going strong. I did have to say goodbye to my wedding rings this week. I kept trying them, but they were just too tight. I am so grateful to have some handed down diamonds to be able to wear. I seem to not be as starving this week, but the heartburn has really kicked in. Tums are my lifesaver.

The Little Things: Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all! Eddie and I had a great day. Mass in the morning, followed by lunch and an Easter egg hunt at the Mileshosky’s. We missed Patty, even though she ditched us for London, Madrid and Segovia.

Even with my new camera, I did a poor job of taking pictures. Here are a few favorites.

My belly button is so funny!

The Little Things: Happy Easter

Happy Easter From Audrey and Landon!

The Little Things: Friday’s Five

Happy Good Friday or Vernal Holiday today! I am looking forward to some quality time with the family on Easter. I can’t wait till the baby is born so I can experience holidays through my child’s eyes. Every holiday is going to be so much better.

Twin Photo Shoot – I had so much fun helping the Steele family take photos this morning. I enjoyed my quality time with Paige and Lilly. Both girls did so well too. I wish I had a photo to post, but they are not available yet. I will post my favorite as soon as I can.

New Camera – With a baby on the way, of course this mom had to buy a new camera. While the camera on my iphone definitely gets the most use, I needed something better. I debated between a Micro 4/3 Camera (in the middle between a DSLR and a point and shoot) and just a point and shoot. While I really liked this camera, I am just not sure I will really use all of its features. I finally decided on a point and shoot, the Sony Cybershot. I have had this brand of camera for years now. This is my third one, I just keep upgrading it. I also recommend B&H for all of your camera needs.

Finally Finished Registering – While I knew registering for Baby E was going to be daunting to this first time Mom, I had no idea how overwhelmed I would be. Even with tons of recommendations from friends, I still had to go back 4 times. I am so happy to be finally done.

Essie Feed Me – Baby E is sucking my dry, especially in this Albuquerque climate. My nails have shown this, and have been peeling a lot. I came across this nail polish and have been very happy. I have been using it for two weeks now, and only one nail is still peeling (instead of all ten.) You can use it under polish or on its own.

Boyfriend by Justin Bieber – Have you heard this song? Justin is all grown up! I find myself turning up the volume every time. This will definitely be on the playlist.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Easter!

The Little Things: 25 Weeks and Starving

I am now 25 weeks and starving all of the time. I really hope that this is not what the next four months have in store for me, or I will be HUGE come July. I am trying my hardest to eat fruits, veggies, granola bars, yogurt, and cheese as snacks. Cheerios seem to be my favorite after dinner snack right now. I am not saying I have not indulged in the occasional sweet treat, but I did resist a donut today. Ha!

A fun thing this week is you can now see baby bulges on my tummy. Creepy, yet cool at the same time.

The Little Things: Brewing Beer

Eddie’s newest hobby is brewing beer. He even said if we won the Mega Millions that he would invest in a brewery. Too bad that we didn’t, but maybe someday we can invest in one. On Sunday we bottled his newest batch. This time he is brewing a Blueberry Weizenbier (Wheat Beer.) The beer smelled so yummy, and I told him he had to save me at least a 6 pack. I helped by capping the bottles, and did not mess up a single one.

Eddie will be entering this beer as well as his last one (an Imperial Nut Brown) into a contest later this month. With not much experience, he is just hoping for some useful feedback.
