The Little Things: Boring is Good!

Last week I was 32 weeks (8 months,) this week 33 weeks. It is going by very fast, and I am so grateful. I keep telling myself that boring is good. I feel fine, and have nothing major to complain about. The baby is now the size of a bag of sugar (with limbs.) We can’t wait to meet this little one!

The Little Things: Too Much Fun!

By how tired and dragging I was this morning, I think I had too much fun this weekend (Eddie too.) I probably should have done a lot more resting.

On Saturday, Eddie and I toured the hospital that I will be delivering at. I really like how small it is. I started to get a little emotional on the tour (no tears!) and realized that we will be back there VERY soon!

Eddie, with some assistance from me, bottled his Vanilla Porter beer and brewed his Belgian Carmel Wit (Blue Moonish.) I am very excited for both of these, and will add them to my stash for when I can consume them.

On Sunday, Eddie and I had some friends join us at the Blues and Brews Festival at Sandia. It was not as tortuous due to the fact that I have tried most of the beers there already, and Marissa is also expecting, so I was not alone. After, we had Marissa and Sidney over for dinner and introduced them to Carne Asada. They loved it.

The rookies were envious of Eddie's pretzel necklace.

On Monday, Eddie enjoyed a bike ride, while Diego waited for him to come back, and I made cupcakes. Laundry and cleaning was also taken care of before we headed over to the Steele’s for a BBQ in Sidnee’s honor. It was the perfect way to end the 3-day weekend.

Waiting for Eddie to come home.

The Little Things: Friday’s Five

Long Weekends – Yay for 3 day weekends! I am really looking forward to this weekend. This may be one of the first Memorial Day weekends that Eddie has not had to work. We have so many fun things planned this weekend, I just hope I get some relaxing in as well. I will also take some time to reflect on what this Holiday is really about.

O’Niells Pub – I use to NOT be a fan of O’Niells, but it has always been a favorite of Eddie’s. I finally figured out what it is I like there (Turkey Jack with a side salad,) and now I can say I like it!

Eddie’s T-shirts – Since I refused to buy maternity pajamas, I have adopted some of Eddie’s t-shirts. I love them so much, he might not get them back.

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Hand Soap – My favorite scent is lavender, but they all smell so delicious. This is the first product of theirs that I have tried, but I will be trying more soon.

Evening Walks With My Boys - While getting up and walking is the last thing I want to do these days, I am so glad Eddie and Diego make me. I love the quality time with just them. No iphones, no TV, just us and plenty to talk about. I especially love these walks when we stop for ice cream.

The Little Things: Let the Jealousy Begin…

I am well prepared for the jealousy that Diego will have for Baby E. It is going to be a hard transition for all of us, especially him.

However, I was unprepared for the jealousy that Baby E would have for Diego, and even more surprised that it is already happening.

I don’t think that Diego has really noticed my tummy getting bigger, nor has he been different toward me. However, anytime Diego is touching my belly Baby E will kick him, and do so as long as he is touching my belly. This has happened multiple times while I am driving and he is on my lap, or also while I am lying down and we are sleeping.

I know you are thinking that it is just the warmth, but Baby E is extremely good at not moving when people are trying to feel, and when Baby E is moving a lot and I touch my belly it seems to ease the movement.

What oh what are Eddie and I in store for?

The Little Things: Audrey is going to Kindergarten!

I can’t believe Audrey is going to Kindergarten in the fall. On Saturday the whole family attended Audrey’s Pre-School Graduation. It was adorable and fast, followed by a cookie reception.

Audrey’s flower girl dress fits her better now, almost 2 years later, than it did on my wedding day. Ha ha!

The Little Things: Friday’s Five

Today is my 100th post! Crazy.

Dinner With A New Friend – Last night I enjoyed dinner with a new friend. She is new to Albuquerque and is expecting her first child in August. We have a lot to talk about, so that really helps. Next time we will have to invite the husbands!

Naked Juice – Pre-pregnancy I never liked juice, but now I do. I still have to dilute it with water to enjoy it though. I really like Naked Juice, and I am under the impression that it is very good for me. And when you buy it at Costco, its not outrageous. ($6 for a large bottle.)

Flexible Work Schedule – I am so lucky to have a very flexible work schedule, and I will enjoy this even more after the arrival of Baby E. On Monday I was able to take a long lunch and meet Rosemary, Sam, Kaylie, Jamie, Lilly and Paige at the park.

Beer Week In Albuquerque – I like this because it makes Eddie happy, even though it tortures me. I am not sure why they call it ‘Beer Week’ as it is longer than a week. You can check out the entire list of events here. We are really looking forward to Blues and Brews on Sunday 5/27. Hopefully I can contain my jealousy of all the people enjoying the brews.

Delegating Work Duties – While this is very hard for me, it is something I have to do. Plus, it is really nice to take things off of my plate right now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The Little Things: Omni Night Out

First, I want to wish my amazing Dad a wonderful birthday today. I really wish I was in the Bahama’s drinking Malbec and celebrating with him. I love you Dad!

Rosemary was in town earlier this week and arranged an Omni night out last night. I am so glad that she did, and we really missed everyone who could not come. It is crazy to think we all met almost 12 years ago. I am so lucky to call these women my friends and have them in my life.

The Little Things: Babymoon and Mother’s Day Getaway

Eddie and I spent the weekend in Durango! It was a little Babymoon and Mother’s Day Getaway. We stayed at the Leland House and Rochester Hotel. It was the perfect balance between hotel and Bed and Breakfast. And the location could not have been better.

We ate (and Eddie drank) our way through Durango. We visited most of the little shops, the Train Station and went on some easy hikes and walks along the bluff and the river. We took naps, and even got to bed early.

Durango Brewing Company was disappointing, but Carver and Steamworks lived up to their expectations. Since it was our Babymoon, we had to pick up a little souvenir for Baby E.

While short, it was the perfect vacation to recharge and really get ready for the baby’s arrival (even though we still have about 9 more weeks.)

Enjoying the Dandelion Saison at Carver. Best Beer of the weekend!

First Mother's Day!

The Little Things: Friday’s Five

Happy Mother’s Day to every Mom I know!

Celebrating Mother’s Day - I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend, I know I will. Yes, I am celebrating ME this year, and I can’t wait. If you are lucky enough to celebrate with your Mother’s, give them lots of hugs and kisses. Phone calls will have to be enough for Eddie and I on Sunday.

Impeccable Timing - I am pretty impressed with the timing that the UPS driver had. We ordered Baby E’s crib online, which made me nervous with it sitting at the door while we were at work. Not here! Our UPS driver chose to come at 5:45pm, so that both of us were home. It was especially wonderful that Eddie was able to bring it inside. Thank you UPS driver.

Daffodils – Sometimes the best pick-me-ups can be very cheap and calorie free. At Trader Joes I picked up a bunch of daffodils for $1.29. They were so beautiful and made me happy for a week. I really need to buy fresh flowers again…

Hand Dipped Ice Cream Bar from Costco – Have you ever had one of these? So yummy and only $1.50. We chose almonds on ours of course, and enjoyed every bite. Pregnant and all, they are big enough to share!

Shiseido Concealer – The less sleep I get, the darker my under eyes get. I am so lucky to have found this staple many years ago. A little on the pricey side, but worth every penny. I have tried the liquid and the stick. I prefer the stick, but both are amazing.

The Little Things: 10 More Fridays

Lately Audrey has been measuring time in Friday’s and it has caught on. 2 more till she has grass, 4 more Friday’s till Nanny and Pop Pop (my Mom and Dad) come home to the US, and 10 more Friday’s till we all get to meet Baby E. I am 30 weeks and feeling good. I keep trying to tell myself that boring is good. My Doctor appointments are so boring! I really want another Ultrasound. Oh well, I guess that means there is no reason for concern.

The Little Things: Baby Bumps

Being pregnant is much more fun when you have someone to share it with! Especially when everyone is enjoying yummy drinks and all you get is a lame mocktail. I love this picture with my friend Jill Litt. She is having twins! A little girl and little boy will soon be hers. She is due about one month after me, but I would not be surprised if they come before Baby E.

The Little Things: Medal Winning Beer

I am so proud of Eddie. He entered his first homebrew into a competition this past weekend and won a bronze medal in the English Brown Ale Category with his Triple E’s Nut Brown.

He also entered his Triple E’s Blueberry Weizen in the same competition and got beat out for the bronze medal in that category by a half of point.
